In the exhibition room of
Since it opened the West Wight Heritage Centre, in Avenue Road Freshwater, has been extremely busy!
Not only has there been a constant stream of people looking at the wonderful selection of old shop photographs,
but also received numerous donations of material and requests for information and images of local buildings.
Freshwater & Totland Archive Group is about to present its first art exhibition!
We are delighted that local ‘award winning’ artist Murray Ince is to display some of his amazing paintings at the Heritage Centre during October.
The collection is entitled ‘The West Wight in Oils’.
Murray has 25 years’ experience of fine art tuition and leads many painting holidays as well as giving private tuition at his Totland home.
He has written many articles for the ‘Paint’ and ‘Leisure Painter’ magazines and is a Winsor and Newton featured artist.
The exhibition runs from Tuesday 6th to Friday 16th October, the opening times are:
Monday & Saturday 10 am – 12. Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays 10 am – 12 & 2 pm – 4 pm.
Entry is free.
Murray will be demonstrating, and available for a chat, on Wednesdays 7th & 14th October from 10.30 am – 12 and 2 pm – 3.30 pm.
Archive Group members will be on duty as usual.
